Do you think we will be able to find a well built home in our price range with modern amenities and character?

Every home is unique in it’s own way however what people appreciate in home features is completely personal and each buyer’s vision is equally distinctive.
It’s crucial when searching for the ideal home to be practical about budget and to obtain pre-approval from your preferred lender.  Consider the lifestyle you must maintain and imagine in detail and document your dream features or style of home to uncover what’s most important before taking action to purchase.  A REALTOR® will focus on location preferences and what’s available within the target price range that’s within your budget and that’s where compromise may need to happen.  It’s good to see what’s available in the perfect location as well as the surrounding area you may not have considered previously because value can vary drastically.

Even if you purchase a home you can add in character and customization hiring talented artisans to help you achieve your vision.
For the holidays, I like to share a great story from the quality people I meet daily.  In gratitude to a wonderful family that sold a one of a kind crafted home this year I pay tribute to them and their love for family first.

A country home was built and there was no way any big bad wolf could ever budge this brick wonder lovingly and expertly built over the course of more than ten years.  The vision was coming together so well but one element was missing and the home owner and builder had to achieve his vision.
A massive walnut tree proudly grew near his family home and as it aged and weathered it met its match in Mother Nature and fell by the roadside.
The skilled tradesman who had an eye for all things wood spotted the opportunity and asked to buy the tree from the owner  for more than two years and finally his wish was granted.
From the raw form of the fallen walnut; the tree went on to be carefully  re-envisioned, and to live on in a new and truly functional way.
The specimen was cut and transported and skinned and split and then lovingly planed down, sanded and constructed and finished to be the most amazing solid hardwood island counter I’ve ever seen.
The walnut counter was the crowning glory placed on a modern classic white painted
Solid maple island with solid wood drawers and dovetail joinery and soft close features.  The open concept home was now finished packed with up cycled quality building materials from the past to welcome all who graced the grand entryway.
He made these outstanding efforts to create a memorable gathering spot for many a meal, beverages and fireside chat any time of the day with friends and family because that’s how he lives and loves his own family.  The most amazing example of an attitude of if I build it they will come.
Enjoy the holidays and making welcome memories together gathering for meals, snacks and treats with those you love.
