Will the Sellers have yard-work done before we take possession?

Buyers of real estate are choosier now that the selection of homes for sale has increased in York region and pricing has stabilized with less competitive demands.  How that translates for Sellers is that paying attention to details is great advice and exterior home maintenance can make a very positive first impression for home Buyers wanting to make their next move.
The less a Buyer needs to keep on their to do list of chores, the better in some cases.  Maintenance of the exterior is noted more than ever now that snow has melted.
With the Spring season here, power washing the home exterior, decks, patios, pool areas and driveways shows care for the home.  Sparkling windows highlight the condition of the windows themselves and the revealing view.  As the sunny days become more plentiful ensure gutters are cleaned, caulking is attended to around windows and weather stripping around doors is in great condition.
Replace bulbs that have blown out in lanterns, soffit pot lighting and area landscape lighting so shoppers understand the lights are in good working condition.
Taking in the vitamin D by simply spending more time raking, blowing away debris and collecting leaves really helps highlight the home perimeter.  It may be prudent to hire an arborist to manage branches that may need to be removed, a tree stump removal specialist can grind away unsightly tree stumps and wood piles can also be taken away if there’s no area for an outdoor fire pit.  Scan the gardens and cut back and clear away plants and shrubs that you may not have tended to in the fall before the growth cycle is in full swing.  Splitting perennials when the frost has left the ground is also prudent if plants are getting too overgrown.
If there is a swimming pool, it may be too early to open but pumping off excess water and debris from the cover can also look less daunting with minimal work expended.  Buyer’s will appreciate the additional efforts as stagnant water is not an attraction to anything other than unwanted bugs.
Has the shed, garage, areas beneath the deck or surrounding outbuildings been edited, cleaned out and organized.  Buyers are not only looking at the home interiors, the exterior needs may cause them to hesitate taking action to purchase the home.
The doors of the home should also be in great condition with safe exterior locking mechanisms, paint or stain that is in a great state as this will be noted on the very first key turn to view the home.  Photographs taken of a well maintained home will attract more Buyers who like what they’ve seen and now want to experience the home in person.
